As
seen in the
recent
Olympics,
competitive
swimming is
a most
popular
international
sport. And
Richboro
Swim
Club—with
its
experienced
staff and
convenient
facility—is
a fine place
for your
child to
learn and
train. For
over 50
years, the
Richboro
Swim Club
has
sponsored
teams in the
Lower Bucks
County
Swimming and
Diving
League.
While
everyone
can’t be an
Olympian,
the benefits
of swim team
participation
include good
health, an
improved
sense of
self-discipline
and a summer
filled with
good and
wholesome
fun. All
members
interested
are invited
to sign up
for team
tryouts.
The availability of this program has provided opportunities, over the years,
for thousands of children from ages 6–18, to develop their swimming and
diving skills in a competitive but nurturing atmosphere. Team coaching and
individual attention is provided by a staff of salaried coaches. Swim
coaches provide workouts and guidance to team members in developing starts,
turns and swimming techniques for the four basic strokes: breaststroke,
backstroke, butterfly and freestyle. Diving instruction is at both the
introductory and advanced levels.
The RSC Parents provide vocal support at the meets, officiating, team social
events, and recognition programs. The team is in need of parental
attendance at a planning meeting for the upcoming summer season on Tuesday,
April 26, 2011 at 7 pm.
A special meeting and clinic to introduce the swim team to new members
will be held on Monday, June 6th at 6:00 pm. Parents and children
interested in joining the swim team for the first time are invited to
attend.
Time trials to determine team placement will be held on Saturday, June 18th
at 8:30 am. A Pre-Season Team picnic for all swimmers, divers and parents
will take place immediately following time trials at 11 am.
